Frequently asked questions

Why are All We Can and Y Care International entering a formal partnership?

All We Can is entering in to a formal partnership with Y Care International because together, both charities can reach further, and have a bigger impact in the marginalised and excluded communities they serve.

This new arrangement allows Y Care International to fulfil a long-held ambition – to extend its ability to make an impact through effective, locally owned partnership with YMCAs across the globe. It also enables All We Can to continue ‘doing all the good we can’ and pursuing its strategic objectives, transforming more lives around the world.

This new way of working will also offer more ways for the charities to effectively collaborate during times of crises, and strengthen work with talented local actors rooted in their communities.

What does this arrangement mean for the day-to-day operations of All We Can and Y Care International?

As a supporter, everything you know and love about each charity will remain the same. Y Care International and All We Can staff will work together as one team, to deliver the operations of both charities.

Think of it like a kitchen – all staff will be working together in the kitchen, each helping each other out with whatever needs to be cooked at any given time. However, the ‘food’ that we make will be specific to each charities unique vision, mission and operations.

Whilst both charities will retain their separate charitable statuses, Y Care International’s current staff will become part of All We Can’s small and friendly team, and join them at their offices in London when the team return to the office. Y Care and All We Can will continue to work through a variety of local partners in the countries in which they operate.

What will happen to the Y Care International Board of Trustees and Staff Members?

Y Care International’s current staff will become part of All We Can’s small and friendly team, and join them at their offices in London when the team return to the office.

All We Can’s existing trustees are becoming trustee directors of Y Care International, with each of the three national YMCA bodies (YMCA England and Wales, YMCA Scotland and YMCA Ireland) appointing an additional trustee to the Y Care International Board.

Will Y Care International continue to work with global YMCA partners?

Yes. Y Care International will remain affiliated with the World Alliance of YMCAs, and continue to act as a vital part of the global YMCA movement. It will also continue to work through local YMCA partners, helping young people in marginalised and excluded communities. Where appropriate, Y Care International may also operate through non-YMCA local partners who share their values.

Y Care International will continue to build on the strong relationships it has with YMCAs, local partners and communities, maintaining high-quality services for young people, and working with All We Can to enhance reach and impact.

I’m a regular giver/donor to Y Care International. What will happen to my donations?

Thank you so much for your continued support for Y Care International. We really value your gifts, which help young people from marginalised and excluded communities unlock their potential.

As both Y Care International and All We Can will be maintaining their separate charitable statuses, your donation will continue to support Y Care’s work in the same way it always has done.

Will Y Care International maintain its brand?

Yes. Part of this new partnership means both brands are committed to retaining their individual brand identities, and their unique missions and vision.

Although All We Can and Y Care International Staff will operate as one joint team, as both charities are maintaining their separate charitable statuses, they will both retain their individual brand identities.
